1. What Own This Day is

Own This Day is a digital service that allows one person to claim a specific calendar date and create a public page associated with that date.

A claim does not give you legal ownership, property rights, trademark rights or any other exclusive rights over the calendar date itself.

"Own", "owner" and similar wording on the site describe your exclusive claim to that date within the Own This Day service only.

2. Your date claim

Each available date may have one active owner on Own This Day. A date becomes yours once payment has been successfully completed and your claim has been confirmed.

Starting checkout may temporarily reserve a date, but a reservation does not create ownership and may expire if payment is not completed.

3. What you receive

A successful claim gives you a public page for your chosen date containing the information you submit, which may include your name, message, image and optional link.

Own This Day may introduce additional optional features, upgrades or ways to transfer claims in the future. Unless explicitly stated, those features are not included in your original purchase.

4. Payments

Payments are processed using Stripe Managed Payments. Where Managed Payments applies, Stripe acts as merchant of record for the transaction and handles matters including payment processing, applicable indirect taxes, fraud and payment disputes.

The total price and currency will be shown before you complete checkout.

5. Refunds and cancellations

Your date page is created and the service begins shortly after successful payment.

Because a date is exclusively allocated to you and the page is created using information you provide, refunds are not normally offered simply because you change your mind after activation.

This does not affect any cancellation, refund or other consumer rights that you have under applicable law.

6. Content you submit

You remain responsible for names, messages, images, links and any other material that you submit to Own This Day.

You must have the rights and permissions necessary to use and publish that content.

You must not submit, upload, link to or otherwise use Own This Day to distribute content that:

• is illegal or promotes, facilitates or encourages criminal activity;
• contains, depicts, promotes or links to child sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation or sexual content involving anyone under 18;
• contains pornography, explicit sexual activity or sexually exploitative material;
• contains credible threats, encouragement of serious violence, graphic violence or other content intended to cause serious harm;
• promotes terrorism, violent extremism, hatred or unlawful discrimination;
• is abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive or intended to harass another person;
• infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy, publicity or other rights belonging to another person;
• contains malware, phishing, scams, malicious downloads or links intended to compromise another person or device;
• unlawfully reveals personal, confidential or private information about another person; or
• is otherwise unlawful or creates a serious risk to users, the public or the operation of Own This Day.

By submitting content, you give Own This Day permission to store, process, resize, moderate, display and distribute it as reasonably necessary to operate your date page and the service.

7. Content moderation

We may use automated systems and manual review to detect content that may violate these terms, applicable law or our safety requirements.

Content may be checked before it is published. We may refuse an upload, prevent checkout from continuing, restrict access to content or refer content for further review where appropriate.

Automated moderation is not perfect and may occasionally reject legitimate content or fail to identify problematic material. We may therefore review moderation decisions where reasonably necessary.

8. Removing content and claims

We may hide, restrict or remove content where we reasonably believe that it breaks these terms, violates the law, infringes someone else's rights, creates a security risk or could cause serious harm.

Where appropriate, we may also suspend or disable an entire date page or claim, including where the service is repeatedly or seriously abused.

Wherever practical, removing individual content will not remove your underlying date claim. Serious or repeated violations may, however, result in the page or claim being disabled.

Removal or restriction of prohibited content does not automatically create a right to a refund, subject always to any rights you have under applicable law.

9. Reporting content

If you believe a public Own This Day page contains illegal, harmful or otherwise prohibited content, you can use the "Report this page" link shown on public date pages.

Please include the URL of the page you are reporting and enough information for us to understand the issue.

10. Availability of the service

We aim to keep Own This Day and claimed pages available reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The service may change over time as we improve, maintain or secure it. We will not deliberately re-sell an active date claim to another person while your claim remains active.

11. Your responsibilities

You must provide accurate information during checkout and must not attempt to interfere with the service, bypass moderation or security systems, automate abusive requests, evade restrictions or use Own This Day for unlawful purposes.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated.

Changes will not retrospectively remove a date claim that you have already validly purchased except where required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse or serious legal or security issues.

13. Statutory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable consumer law.
